New Poll - AUSTRALIANA!

So it looks like the Blogger Poll widget has been removed

(。╯︵╰。)

Back to the good old fashioned way! Reply to this post with what you would like to see for AUSTRALIANA
  • Mammals/marsupials (e.g. kangaroo / koala)
  • Birds (e.g. magpies / kookaburras)
  • Small plants/flowers (e.g. kangaroo's paw)
  • Large plants (e.g. wattle / gum trees)
  • Loose items (e.g. didgeridoo / food items / maps / maybe some clothing items)

You may vote for as many as you like, but you must let me know your order of preference to help me prioritise.

PS: There are still many more wild MV trees to come - this is just so I can get a head's start on the next theme :)

Poll: What would you like to see more of?

There's a new poll, located on the right of the page. I'm curious what you'd like to see more of ^_^

The poll will run all year so plenty of time to make your voice heard.

Cheers,
S

Screenshot Saturday: NanoWriMo

I know I've been falling behind with the 'must do mondays' and 'screenshot saturdays', but here is why. I've joined NaNoWriMo!

Now, I don't know if the game script will actually be 50,000 words (ouch) but at least this is motivating me to write it out.

Must-Do Monday 5: Keep on writing

This week I really need to focus on writing again. I am very much looking forward to when the script is all done - it's taking much longer than I thought as my writing habits aren't the best.

NaNoWriMo is coming up though, so I'm thinking of joining that for the first time.

Have you ever done NaNoWriMo? Any tips or fun stories to share? ^_^

Must-Do Monday 4: Create a list of maps needed

Must Do Monday! Time to once again outline goals for the week.

Since I've gotten a bit more of the way into the script, this week I would like to start a list of maps needed so far.

I'm hoping, God willing, to include things like:
- atmosphere
- types of enemies
- expected events (probably won't share that with you though ;) )

Can you think of anything else that would be good to include in a list like this?

Must-Do Monday 3: WRITE WRITE WRITE, right?

Thank God I actually got to do map-making last week in response to my 'must-do Monday'.

This week, God willing, I want to get back into the habit of writing. I've got the basic plot and quests mapped out, but I need to sit down and write it all out. Until this is done, I won't be entirely sure what 'feel' each of the maps need to have.

It's going to take awhile, but if I can get back into the habit then it will be over more quickly than waiting weeks between writing spells.

Do you have any tips to get into the writing habit?

Screenshot Saturday 3

Here's two screenshots of this week's progress!

I've actually had this week off work, so have been able to do more than over the past couple of months.

Screenshot 1: continuing with the light puzzle.
(Ignore the birds... they are my temporary 'switches' lol)

Screenshot 2: Another forest scene. Do you think it's too busy?

Must-Do Monday 2: get back into the habit of map making

;___; life has been getting in the way of game-making lately... particularly map making. I can't remember when I last opened RPG Maker! ;____;

God willing, my goals this week are to:
- finish writing the script for the first main quest
- complete any type of map!
- Maybe make some more free resources - possibly plants or flowers.

Must-do Monday 1

First Must-Do Monday! God willing, my goals this week are to:
- finish chapter 2 of the script (of ~5)
- complete 1 forest map
- work more on my cave puzzle (you'll get a sneak peek of that soon).

Btw, have you guys heard of Habitica?
https://habitica.com/static/front

I've used it for about 2 months now and highly recommend it. Thanks to gamifying my to-do list, I've worked more on my game (and other personal goals) more regularly than before.
